CCAI public affairsand community manager Triyono Prijosoesilo said the move is necessary togenerate growth amid stiff competition in Indonesia , tap into themarket potential of the country’s population of 250 million, and meetthe region’s greater demand once the ASEAN Economic Community isestablished in 2015.
He said Indonesia ’s positive economicgrowth boosted the Indonesian people’s purchasing power, enabling themto consume high-quality products. Indonesia is therefore animportant destination for Coca Cola’s investments.
CCAI currentlyruns 10 manufacturing facilities in Sumatra, Java and Bali with 35production lines, and will add another four lines early next year. Thiswill increase the company’s overall production capacity to 2.18 billionlitres each year.
An Indonesian official said the beverage andfood industries could expand by 9 percent this year despite slowingeconomic growth.-VNA
