Sydney (VNA) –The Representative Office of the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technologyin New South Wales, Australia on May 19 launched a club of Overseas Vietnamese intellectualsin New South Wales.
Addressing thelaunching ceremony, head of the Representative Office Chu Quang Hoa said that theAustralian state is now home to nearly 100 Vietnamese scientists.
Hoa stated that theclub aims to gather Overseas Vietnamese scientists in New South Wales andconnect them with the intellectual community at home for mutual professionalsupport and promoting cooperation, contributing to the sustainable developmentof the Vietnamese economy.
Meanwhile, VietnameseConsul General in New South Wales Trinh Duc Hai stressed the significance of scientificresearch exchange and technology transfer between Vietnam and Australia in the processof building the bilateral strategic partnership.
As Vietnam is conductingmodernization following the trend of the fourth industrial revolution, andbuilding a startup ecosystem, the OV intellectuals in Australia and New SouthWales state in particular constitute one of the important factors to facilitatethe process, he held.
He said that the clubis also a bridge for knowledge and technology transfer to youngsters inVietnam.
At the launchingceremony, the Representative Office of the Ministry of Science and Technologyin New South Wales introduced an online science-technology information bank atwebsite www.khoahoctot.vn, which isexpected to help connect members of the club and their peers at home.-VNA
