Hanoi (VNA) – A business delegation from China are paying a visit toVietnam to study the possibility of investing and importing agro-forestry-aquaticproducts of the Southeast Asian country.
Ata working session in Hanoi on February 18 with officials of the Ministry ofAgriculture and Rural Development (MARD), several Chinese enterprises decidedto import 100,000 tonnes of rice from Vietnam in the time ahead.
Someother businesses wanted to import ‘ca loc” – a kind of freshwater fish,violet-fresh sweet potatoes and durians from Vietnam.
Representativesof the Chinese firms said they want to set up partnerships with majorVietnamese companies that are able to provide large amounts of products throughofficial channels.
TranVan Cong, Deputy Director of the Agro Processing and Market Development Authority,introduced to the Chinese businesspeople domestic enterprises which are eligibleto export argo-forestry-aquatic products and pledged to ensure the higheststandards as requested by Chinese partners.
Inaddition, the Chinese businesses also expressed their wish to invest in Vietnamin the fields of hi-tech application and clean, use of safe agriculturalmaterials and clean agricultural production.
Duringtheir stay until February 23, the Chinese delegation are scheduled to work withrelevant localities such as Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces of TienGiang, Binh Thuan and Binh Phuoc to learn about products they want to import inthe coming time.-VNA
