The issue was discussed in depth byvisiting Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong and Myanmar Vice President UNyan Tun in Nay Pyi Taw during their talks held shortly following theChinese leader’s arrival in the Myanmar capital earlier on the day.
Liu noted that China and Myanmar are traditionally friendly neighbors with deep fraternal friendship.
She added that facts have proved that the long-term steady developmentof China- Myanmar ties meet the fundamental interest of the twocountries and deserve to be valued by both sides.
She expressed China's wishes to make joint efforts to continue exchangeand cooperation in various forms in the sectors of education, health,culture, sports, information, film and television and religious affairs.
For his part, U Nyan Tun said development offriendly and neighborly ties with China is also one of the mostimportant parts of Myanmar's foreign policy.
Myanmaris committed to promoting Myanmar-China comprehensive strategiccooperative partnership, and endorses China's ideas and proposals onboosting cooperation, he added.
Following themeeting, the two leaders jointly witnessed the signing of an agreementon bilateral economic and technological cooperation.
Liu is on a two-day official visit to Myanmar at the invitation of U Nyan Tun.-VNA
