Choung Choungy, Sam Rainsy’s lawyer, confirmed that he had received asummons issued by the Phnom Penh City Court on April 3 and that he wouldact on Sam Rainsy’s behalf as Rainsy is abroad at that time.
If found guilty of both charges Rainsy could face up to 18 years inprison.
Earlier, in late January, Rainsy was sentenced by the Svay Riengprovincial court on charges of sabotaging public property and ignitingracial discrimination./.
