Dak Lak (VNA) – Poor localitiesin the Central Highlands region have benefited from a Government programme to buildirrigation systems, rural transportation systems and markets, public works, andsupport production.
The region is allocated nearly 460 billion VND (17.86 million USD)under Programme 135 this year.
According to the Steering Committee for CentralHighlands Region, regional provinces have distributed capital from the programmein a fair and transparent manner based on the demand of each locality, withpriority to remote, mountainous and poor localities.
They have also linked the programme with otherprogrammes such as the building of new-style rural areas, while engaging thecommunity in building public works.
At the same time, they have also showed strongperformance in implementing support policies to support ethnic minority peoplein settling down by providing them with housing and faming land, and capitalassistance.
The programme, launched in 1999, aims toimprove living conditions for rural residents with a particular focus on ethnicminority communities.
A list of 2,139extremely disadvantaged and border communes in 46 provinces nationwide areeligible for Programme 135 in 2017-2020.-VNA
