This was the result of the secondconsultation conference organised by the Standing Board of the VietnamFatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) in Hanoi on March 22.
Prominent at the conference were Tong Thi Phong, Politburo member,Vice Chairwoman of the NA and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the ElectionCouncil, and Ha Thi Khiet, Head of the Party Central Committee’sCommission for Mass Mobilisation.
Reports deliveredat the conference indicated that VFFCC has received the recommendationsof 183 candidates, their summarized biographies and assets inventories.
The candidates include 11 recommended by Partybodies, three by the State President’s agency, 20 by the Government, twoby justice agencies, 16 by armed forces and 31 others by VFF and itsmember organisations.
Participants all expressedbelief in the recommendations of the centrally run agencies as well asthe nominees. However, many of them raised concern about the age offull-time deputies, to ensure the rate of re-elected deputies, theproportion of elected deputies and candidates to have more choice, andthe rate of non-Party members and ethnic minority people in theparliament./.
