Catholic delegations pay Tet visit to Hanoi’s leaders

ThePeople’s Committee Chairman Nguyen The Thao informed his guest of thecity’s achievements in politics, economy, culture, society, security andsocial orders in 2010.

The city’s GDP estimated to post ayear-on-year increase of 11 percent, higher than the set target by thePeople’s Council and 1.64 fold the country’s growth rate.

As aresult, the average GDP growth rate of the city between the 2006-2010period reached 10.7 percent, resulting in a per capita GDP of 37 millionVND per year (roughly 1,950 USD).

On behalf of the city’sleadership, Chairman Thao expressed thanks to Archbishop Nguyen Van Nhonas well as Catholic dignitaries and followers for their contributionsto the city’s achievements, and particularly to the celebration of theThang Long-Hanoi millennium anniversary.

On the occasionof Tet (Lunar) holidays, he extend a happy new year wish to allCatholic dignitaries and followers of Hanoi Diocese.

The same day, Chairman Thao received a delegation of Hung Hoa diocese, led by Bishop Vu Huy Chuong./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
