Hanoi (VNA) – Up to 12,100 newenterprises were established in the capital city of Hanoi in the first sixmonths of 2018, with total registered capital of 124 trillion VND (around 5.46billion USD), reported the municipal People’s Committee.
The figures represent a reduction of 3 percentin the number of businesses but an increase of 31 percent in the amount ofcapital compared to the same period last year.
During the period, nearly 1,950 firms resumed theiroperations, down by 1.5 percent year-on-year, while more than 4,300 stoppedoperations, surging by 51 percent over the same period last year.
Hanoi also saw 720 firms completing dissolutionprocedures in the first half of the year, 32 percent higher than last year’scorresponding period, the report said, adding that as of June, the city is hometo some 251,500 enterprises.
From January to June, the city’s total socialinvestment capital reached an estimated 128.9 trillion VND (5.67 billion USD),up by 10 percent year-on-year.
The registered capital of investment projectsoutside the State budget hit 80 trillion VND (3.52 billion USD), up 19 percentyear-on-year, while foreign investment stood at 1.2 billion USD, up by 9.5 percentcompared to the same period last year.
To date, the city has 4,325 valid foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, capitalised at 27.94 billion USD, of which 15.4billion USD has been disbursed.-VNA
