CanTho (VNA) - The southern city of Can Tho’s leaders held a meetingon November 14 with An Tin Group for a “smart city” in Vo Van Kiet Street withinvestment of 15 trillion VND (660.8 million USD).

Nguyen Duc Tho, An Tin Group’s chairman, saidthey planned to build the smart city with total area of 300ha, of which, a halfwould be used for residential areas, 25 percent for commercial centres and therest for offices for rent.

Tho said architects from Singapore would designthe city to fully make use of natural resources with an aim to effectivelymanage energies, reducing pollution and improving the quality of life forpeople.

Vice chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee Truong Quang Hoai Nam asked the Centre for Trade Promotion andExhibition to be in charge of all procedures for the construction. The citywould create favourable conditions for the group to implement the project.-VNA
