Can Tho-Lam Dong air route to be launched on April 26

A direct air route linking the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho and the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong will be launched on April 26, with one-way fare set at 840,000 VND (around 38.6 USD).
A direct air route linking the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho and theCentral Highlands province of Lam Dong will be launched on April 26,with one-way fare set at 840,000 VND (around 38.6 USD).

The information was released at a working session between the VietnamAir Services Company (Vasco) and representatives of the two localitiesin Can Tho on April 1.

The air route will beoperated by Vasco and the Vietravel tourist company. Under the contract,Vietravel will charter two flights using 65-seat ATR plane per week.Forty out of the 65 seats will be reserved for Vietravel’s customers,while the remaining will be sold to the public.

According to Vice Chairman of Lam Dong People’s Committee Nguyen VanYen, in 2014, the province welcomed around 4.8 million tourists, ofwhich approximately 1 million are from the Mekong Delta region. However,only about 400,000 visitors arrived via airway at Lien Khuong airportin Lam Dong’s Da Lat City.

The opening of theLien Khuong-Can Tho air route will help boost tourism connectivitybetween the two localities as well as others in the two regions, he said.-VNA
