Defence Minister General Tea Banh said that the opposition CambodianNational Rescue Party (CNRP) was forcing the ruling Cambodian People'sParty (CPP) to follow its wishes.

The Ministermade the statement at a meeting to review 2013’s achievements of theRoyal Cambodian Armed Forces on January 22 in Phnom Penh.

He added the opposition party’s wishes would lead to racism, and the military could not allow it to continue.

In addition, Tea Banh directed the military to continue to promoteits 2013 achievements in socio-security and protect people.

Earlierthis year, the Cambodia Defence Ministry issued a statement, sayingthat it will protect the Constitution and Cambodian government afteropposition forces held demonstrations to ask a change in the electionresults of the fifth National Assembly and threaten to isolate PhnomPenh by protests.-VNA

Indonesia begins major oil, gas exploration in Sulawesi

Indonesia's state-owned oil company Pertamina, along with foreign partners Sinopec from China and Kuwait’s Kufpec, has signed a contract to explore the Melati oil and gas block, located off the coast of Sulawesi. The block is estimated to contain trillions of cubic feet of gas reserves.
