Cambodia’s garment, footwear exports rise 9 pct

The value of Cambodia’s garment and footwear exports topped 1.7 billion USD, an increase of nearly 9 percent from the same period last year, according to the country’s Ministry of Trade.
The value of Cambodia’s garment and footwear exports topped 1.7billion USD, an increase of nearly 9 percent from the same period lastyear, according to the country’s Ministry of Trade.

The rise stems from the increase in export value to the Europeanmarket, China, Japan, from 429 million USD to 521 million USD, said MuniKa, General Secretary of the Garment Manufacturers Association inCambodia (GMAC).

The country’s trade value posted at4.75 billion USD in the first quarter, with exports earning 2.14billion USD, up 7.5 percent, according to the ministry.

The country’s major export earners include garments, footwear, rice, agricultural products, and sugars.-VNA

Indonesia begins major oil, gas exploration in Sulawesi
