Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - Cambodian migrant workers inThailand have made their way back home through Ban Laem border crossing tospend time with their relatives during the Songkran holiday.
Around 10,000 Cambodian workers returned to their homecountry on April 8 via Ban Laem border checkpoint in Pong Nam Rondistrict, Chantaburi province. More workers are expected to leave this week.
Many of them have been working in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Chonburi,Rayong and Chantaburi provinces. Both Thai and Cambodian border authoritieshave been working together to ensure their safe return. They are required tocross back to Thailand no later than April 30 at the same bordercrossing.
Pong Nam Ron District Chief Peeranat Rattanawaraopas hasinstructed border officials to follow the civil state approach in facilitatingalien workers’ return while urging the workers to strictly follow Thaiemployment regulations.-VNA
