Phnom Penh(VNA) – Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International CooperationPrak Sokhon will attend the 16th meeting of the Vietnam-Cambodia JointCommittee that will be held in Hanoi on May 17.
A statement of theministry on May 14 announced that the Minister will co-chair the event with VietnameseDeputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
The meeting is achance for the two sides to review their achievements in bilateral cooperationover the past years and seek solutions to further strengthen the bilateral friendlyaffiliation for peace and prosperity of both countries, according to thestatement.
It also added thatfollowing the event, the two sides will sign a number of important documents.On the sidelines of the meeting, Prak Sokhon will pay a courtesy call to PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Vietnam and Cambodiaare enjoying close friendly ties and comprehensive cooperation.
Two-way tradereached 3.8 billion USD in 2017, up 25 percent over the previous year.
The two countriesare determined to boost border trade activities to soon realise the target of 5billion USD in bilateral trade in the near future.-VNA
