Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodia has planned to spend 7 million USDto cover the expenses of food and accommodation for all foreign athletes andcoaches participating in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games which is scheduled for May,Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said on April 24.
The Cambodian Prime Minister said the Gamesis free-of-charge for all athletes, coaches and spectators, both Cambodians andforeigners.
Earlier, Cambodia had announced to waive the charge of 50 USDa person per day on food and accommodation for all foreign athletes andcoaches. It will also provide free tickets for all viewers as well as free livebroadcast rights for local and foreign TV networks.
Cambodia will host the SEA Games for the first timein 64 years, with more than 11,000 athletes and coaches fromSoutheast Asian nations expected to participate in the Games.
According to the Cambodia SEA Games OrganisingCommittee (CAMSOC), the Games will see athletes competing in 37 sports across581 disciplines and ASEAN Para Games 12 with 13 sports.
With the slogan "Sports - Living inPeace", SEA Games 32 will take place from May 5-17 in the capital city ofPhnom Penh and four other localities, namely Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk,Kampot, and Kep./.
