Cambodia to build peace parks nationwide

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen has approved a proposal to build peace parks called "Techo Santepheap" in agencies, units and localities nationwide in the near future.

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen hasapproved a proposal to build peace parks called "Techo Santepheap"in agencies, units and localities nationwide in the near future.

Speaking at a ceremony onJune 20 commemorating the 46th anniversary of the journey tooverthrow the Pol Pot genocidal regime at the headquarters of the CambodianMinistry of Defence, PM Hun Sen said the construction of memorial parks in citiesand provinces is necessary.

These parks will serve as atribute to the past and provide recreational and exercise areas for the public,he said.

Since 2017, the ministry hasundertaken the construction of numerous memorial structures at relevantlocations, leaving a historical legacy for future generations./.
