Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and his Thaicounterpart, Prayuth Chan-ocha, co-chaired the third joint Cabinet meeting inPhnom Penh on September 7.
After the meeting themed strengthening partnership for peace and prosperity, thetwo PMs witnessed the signing of a joint statement of a meeting between the twocountries’ foreign ministers and a bilateral agreement for the avoidance of doubletaxation and prevention of income tax by Cambodia’s economic and financeminister and the Thai foreign minister.
Addressing the joint press conference after the signing ceremony, PM Hun Sensaid the two sides discussed efforts to fight drug crime and human trafficking,in which the Thai side agreed to help Cambodia build a drug detoxification centrein Preah Sihanouk province.
Thai Prime Minister Prayuth said his country will increase the import ofCambodia’s farm produce in the coming time. The two sides agreed to build arailway connecting the two countries’ capital cities.
Before ending his one-day visit to Cambodia on September 7, the Thai PM paid a courtesyvisit to Acting Head of State and President of the Senate Say Chhum.
