The pledge was madeduring an August 21 talk between Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Ministerand Foreign Minister Hor Namhong and visiting Chinese Foreign MinisterWang Yi in Phnom Penh.
Speaking at a joint pressconference after the talk, Wang said the ties between Cambodia andChina have been profoundly strengthened and developed day by daysince the establishment of their ties in 1958.
Healso offered his congratulations to the Cambodian People's Party (CPP)for its victory in the general election last month and hoped thatCambodian political parties would solve remaining problems relating tothe poll peacefully.
For his part, Hor Namhong saidthe Chinese FM’s Cambodia visit took place on time to celebrate the55th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties and the 2013Cambodia-China Year of Friendship.
He added that atWang's invitations, he would attend the ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers’Meeting slated for August 28-30 in China to strengthen and expandthe strategic partnership of cooperation between ASEAN and China.
Cambodia and China have witnessed rapiddevelopment of the bilateral relations in the last decade. China is nowthe leading investor in the country with total investment reaching 9.17billion USD from 1994 to 2012, reported the Council for Development ofCambodia.-VNA
