Hanoi (VNA) – The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC)on October 7 issued banknotes with a face value of 15,000 riels (3.75 USD) tomark the 15th anniversary of King Norodom Sihamoni’s coronation.

A sub-decree on the issuance was signed by PrimeMinister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

NBC Governor Chea Chanto said the new notedepicts the portrait of King Norodom Sihamoni on the front. Its back featureshis picture taken with his parents – former King Norodom Sihanouk and formerQueen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, along with the sentence: “Congratulations the15th Anniversary of the Coronation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech PreahBoromneth Norodom Sihamoni (29 October 2004 – 29 October 2019).”

The main colours of this note are purple,lavender and blue.

The king’s photos are printed on the currentbanknotes with denominations of 500 riels, 10,000 riels, 20,000 riels, and100,000 riels.

The monarch, 66, came to the throne as the Kingof Cambodia on October 29, 2004, after his father King Norodom Sihanoukabdicated due to health problem./.
