Cambodia Angkor Air eyes int’l market

The Cambodia Angkor Air (CAAir) has seen a year-on-year growth of 106.6 percent in international passenger volume during the first half of the year.
The Cambodia Angkor Air (CAAir) has seen a year-on-year growth of106.6 percent in international passenger volume during the first half ofthe year.

The rise is attributable to newly launchedroutes such as Phnom Penh – Xiamen (China), Phnom Penh-Bangkok(Thailand) and Phnom Penh-Hanoi (Vietnam), the number of passengersflying CAAir international routes has increased to 226,000 in thereviewed period.

The carrier’s statistics reportedthat a total of 307,000 passengers, including 80,000 domesticpassengers, used the airline during the first six months of this year,up 77 percent over the same period last year.

CAAir isa joint-venture company between Vietnam Airlines and the CambodianGovernment. The airline has set a target to increase the number ofairplanes to 15 in 2015, to cater to the increasing demand of bothdomestic and international markets.-VNA

Indonesia begins major oil, gas exploration in Sulawesi

Indonesia's state-owned oil company Pertamina, along with foreign partners Sinopec from China and Kuwait’s Kufpec, has signed a contract to explore the Melati oil and gas block, located off the coast of Sulawesi. The block is estimated to contain trillions of cubic feet of gas reserves.
