Brunei, Singapore hold joint air defense exercise

The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) started their joint air defence exercise at Brunei’s Air Force Base in Rimba on September 30.
The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and the Republic of Singapore AirForce (RSAF) started their joint air defence exercise at Brunei’s AirForce Base in Rimba on September 30.

The openingceremony took place at the air force base with a parade performed bypersonnel of the two exercise contingents.

Thetwo-week long exercise, running through October 14, aims to fostercloser ties between RBAirF and RSAF as well as provide practicaltraining for the Ground Base Air Defense (GBAD) operators of both sides.

It includes a wide range of activities, such asaircraft recognition, simulator training, fire-fighting drill, live firemaneuver, battle procedure practice and sport interaction.

This year’s event marks the 20 th year of the bilateral drill.-VNA

Indonesia begins major oil, gas exploration in Sulawesi

Indonesia's state-owned oil company Pertamina, along with foreign partners Sinopec from China and Kuwait’s Kufpec, has signed a contract to explore the Melati oil and gas block, located off the coast of Sulawesi. The block is estimated to contain trillions of cubic feet of gas reserves.
