The Brazilian minister informed his host of the outcomes of his talkswith Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, sayingthat both sides reached consensus on a number of areas includingpolitics-diplomacy, economics, trade and investment.
Brazil intends to recognise Vietnam as a market economy soon, step upthe negotiations and signing of an investment promotion and protectionagreement and raise trade to 10 billion USD by 2020 from 3 billion USDin 2014, he said.
He suggested fosteringcollaboration across farming, science-technology, nationaldefence-security, healthcare, education and social welfare.
The guest confirmed Brazil’s readiness to work closely with Vietnam atmultilateral forums and international organisations as well as to backVietnam’s bid to be non-permanent member of the United Nations SecurityCouncil for the 2020-2021 tenure.
The PM, for hispart, assured his guest that Vietnam wants to ramp up mutuallybeneficial coordination across the board with Brazil for the sake oftheir peoples.
He said the Vietnamese leaders havehigh expectations for the Brazilian President’s trip to Vietnam laterthis year and have asked relevant parties to prepare for the visit.
Both sides should promote existing mechanisms while developing newones to strengthen economic, trade and investment links, he said.
The host also called for closer bilateral liaisons at multilateralforums and international organisations in the name of peace, stability,security, cooperation and development in the region and beyond.-VNA
