Boy returning from Russia becomes latest COVID-19 case

A boy returning from Russia on a flight from Russia on May 13 and now being in quarantine, has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, becoming the 328th case of COVID-19 in Vietnam, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said on May 30 morning.

Hanoi (VNA)
 – A boy returning fromRussia on a flight from Russia on May 13 and now being in quarantine, hastested positive for SARS-CoV-2, becoming the 328th case of COVID-19in Vietnam, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Controlsaid on May 30 morning.

The one-year-old boy initially testednegative on the first day after arriving, but the test results on May 28 and 29turned positive.

With the newest case, the number of infectedpassengers on the May 13 flight from Russia has increased to 34. All have beenin quarantine since arrival, posing no risk of transmission to the community.

Vietnam has not recordedany community infection of COVID-19 for 44 consecutive days since 6am April 16 to6am May 30.

A total of 7,870 peoplewho had close contact with COVID-19 patients or returned from pandemic-hitareas are being quarantined.

Among the 328 patientsrecorded so far, 278 have been given the all clear, and there has been nodeath./.
