Source: VNA)Binh Duong (VNA) – The southern province of Binh Duong enjoyed a month-on-monthrise of 5.09 percent in index of industrial production (IIP) in September and a9.48 percent year-on-year increase in the first nine months of this year.
Accordingto the provincial People’s Committee, the number of workers in local firms in thereviewed period rose 1.76 percent from the previous month. The figure inState-owned enterprises was up 1.88 percent, while that of foreign directinvested firms was up 1.69 percent.
Since earlythis year, the processing and manufacturing industry contributed 96 percent oftotal value of the sector.
Somesectors recording good growth included food processing with 5.1 percent;garment, 5.7 percent; leather and related products, 11.9 percent; paper and pulpproducts, 6.2 percent; rubber and plastics, 12.7 percent; electronics,computers and optical products, 18.4 percent.
Thecommittee also revealed that along with support policies, the province haspromptly remove obstacles and created favourable conditions for enterprises toimprove competitiveness and expand market.
The province expects good growth in the localindex of industrial production in the rest of the year.-VNA
