Binh Dinh: Nearly 38 bln VND for calamity management project

The central coastal province of Binh Dinh will invest nearly 38 billion VND (1.77 million USD) in 2015 to carry out the Natural Disaster Risk Management Project, according to Nguyen Huu Vui, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Ofthe figure, nearly 30 billion VND (1.4 million USD) will be sourced fromthe World Bank and the remaining from corresponding provincial capital.

Theproject will cover embankment upgrades along the Kon River flowingacross An Nhon town and Tuy Phuoc district, Ho Nui Mot reservoir repairsand the construction of an embankment in Nhon An commune and a dykealong the Ha Thanh River.

The project has created favourableconditions for districts in the province to repair eroded embankmentswhich threaten production and livelihoods in the locality, said anagricultural official in Tuy Phuoc district.-VNA
