Jointly held by Challenge to Change, a non-governmental organisation ofthe UK and the Co-ordination Office for Climate Change in Binh Dinhprovince, the programme is being implemented in the central cities ofDa Nang and Quy Nhon and southern Can Tho city, which are liable to beaffected by climate change.
It is part of thelarger transnational project, “Asian Cities Climate Change ResilienceNetwork” (ACCCRN), which is conducted in 10 Asian cities across Vietnam, India , Thailand and Indonesia to develop resiliencestrategies in response to climate change.
From nowuntil the end of May, Vietnam ’s youth groups will devise specificinitiatives on adaptation to climate change. The best initiatives willbe provided from 10-100 million VND each to assist implementation.
The programme is expected to contribute to reducing the effects ofclimate change and improve people’s living conditions in the presentclimate change context.-VNA
