Hanoi (VNA) – A total of 330 bicycles worth nearly 500 million VND(21,500 USD) have been presented to poor students with excellent academicperformances in northern localities.
The bicycles weregifts from the Vietnam Red Cross (VRC) Central Committee, the Sai Gon-HanoiBank (SHB) and Dai-ichi Life Vietnam insurance company, the VRC announced onJanuary 5.
The beneficiaries comefrom Hanoi, Hai Phong city, and Quang Ninh, Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh andTuyen Quang provinces.
Child care, educationand protection are always among priorities of the VRC and its partners in theunderstanding that investing in young people, especially those living indifficult circumstances will contribute to increasing the quality of humanresources to serve the nation’s sustainable development and internationalintegration.
Many Vietnameseenterprises have actively participated in social activities supporting children.In the time ahead, SHB and Dai-ichi Life Vietnam pledge to continue workingwith the VRC in other fields, thus contributing to the nation’s economicdevelopment and social welfare.-VNA
