Ben Tre (VNA) - The Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre hasearmarked over 28.46 trillion VND (1.24 billion USD) for the development of localinfrastructure and logistics services in the 2021-2025 period.
The sum will be poured into 89 projects, including upgrades to National Highways57 and 57B and the North-South Expressway sections serving the local PhuThuan Industrial Park and Phong Nam industrial cluster.
In the subsequent period of 2026-2030, more than 29.91 trillion VND willbe invested in 41 transport and logistics projects in the province, including those involvingthe completion of a coastal road and the HCM City-Tien Giang-Ben Tre-Tra Vinh Expressway.
Local authorities are also calling for more than 1.47 trillion VND in businessinvestment to develop ports at local industrial parks and clusters.
In 2026-2030, it will channel money into in a new deep-water port inBinh Dai district and continue upgrading and expanding existing ports.
According to the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee TranNgoc Tam to realise these goals, Ben Tre will deploy a raft of solutions oninstitutions, capital, land, human resources, and communications.
The province’s funding for such development in the 2016-2020 period totalled 82.9 trillion VND./.
