Hanoi (VNA) – TheDepartment of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City has carriedout a programme to improve its beef products by 2020, with a vision to 2030.

This information wasreleased at a conference held by the department and the Consulate of Belgium inthe city on March 8.

The programme aims todevelop high productivity beef stock, improve the quality of beef and providebreeds for other southern provinces.

At the conference,several ideas were raised by Belgian experts to improve cow-breeding.

The programme waslaunched in accordance of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the HCMCity People’s Committee and East Flanders province of Belgium in October 2016on agricultural cooperation. It will work to improve the value and product qualityof high technology agriculture in 2016-2020.

The MoU has also offeredcooperation opportunities for the city’s firms with their Belgian peers.-VNA
