Bangladeshi President Mohammed Shahabuddin has expressed his hope for stronger multi-sectoral cooperation with Vietnam, while meeting with new Vietnamese Ambassador to the country Nguyen Manh Cuong.

Dhaka (VNA) – Bangladeshi President MohammedShahabuddin has expressed his hope for stronger multi-sectoral cooperation withVietnam, while meeting with new Vietnamese Ambassador to the country Nguyen ManhCuong.

At the June 20 meeting, which took place after Cuongpresented his credentials, the leader lauded Vietnam’ssocio-economic growth and said he hopes that the Southeast Asian nation will facilitate Bangladesh exporting its key products such as textiles, garments,and pharmaceuticals to the market.

Wishing to strengthen Bangladesh’s collaboration with theAssociation of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), he proposed Vietnamplay an active role in accelerating the bloc’s process for approving Bangladeshas its sectoral dialogue partner.
