A bomb exploded in the centre of Bangkok, Thailand around 19:00 (local time) of August 17, leaving at least 12 dead and 20 others injured, according to local media reports.

A bomb exploded in the centre of Bangkok, Thailand around 19:00 (local time) of August 17, leaving at least 12 dead and 20 others injured, according to local media reports.

Police Chief Lieutenant General Prawut Thavornsiri has confirmed the blast, which took place close to the Erawan shrine at a major Bangkok intersection, was caused by a bomb.-VNA
