Bac Ninh strives to enhance competitiveness index in 2015

In 2014, the locality ranked tenthnationwide with 60.92 PCI points. Its transparency, timing cost,business support and equal competition sub-indexes increased from 2013while land access, unofficial cost and dynamic criteria reduced.

Bac Ninh’s PCI has ranked among the top ten provinces for sixconsecutive years thanks to local authority’s efforts to build anattractive business climate, said Secretary of the Provincial PartyCommittee Nguyen Nhan Chien.

He suggested drasticmeasures to address the dropping indexes and remove barriers toenterprise growth, including cutting red tape and boosting equalityamong different economic sectors.

In a bid to promotethe responsibility of individual personnel, provincial awards will bepresented to those with outstanding performance contributing to thelocal PCI by the end of 2015, noted Chairman of Bac Ninh People’sCommittee Nguyen Tu Quynh.

The PCI report considers arange of criteria, including land access for businesses, land usestability, transparency, an equal and competitive environment and legalsupport for firms.

Since 2005, the PCI survey has included nearly 80,600 private owned enterprises and 7,800 foreign enterprises.-VNA
