Bac Lieu’s aquatic output hits 73,000 tonnes

The figure pushed the total result of Bac Lieu in the first fourmonths of this year to 73,000 tonnes, a 3 percent rise over the sameperiod in 2013, helping the province complete nearly 27 percent of itsyearly target.

The yielding of 20,300 tonnes of shrimp has beenparticularly positive, helping solve the shortage of shrimp for exportin the locality.

Currently, Bac Lieu has more than 100,000 hectares of shrimp farm and 495 fishing vessels.

The province has also formed 46 logistic teams to support the offshore fishing vessels.-VNA

Vietnam’s lobster export to the Chinese market in January-September rose 33 folds year-on-year on the back of lower prices and stronger trade ties between the two nations, the South China Morning Post said on October 22.
