Bac Giang (VNA) – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Giang province Le Anh Duong said the province will focus investment on developing socio-economic infrastructure, aiming to create breakthroughs to attract investment in the time ahead.
According to Duong, Bac Giang plans to accelerate work to complete several key projects early, including a 7-storey building for the provincial hospital, and expansion of the functional rehabilitation hospital and medical centres of Tan Yen, Lang Giang and Hiep Hoa districts.
The provincial political school is also a key project of priority.
Besides, Bac Giang will speed up the pace of transport projects with the aim of expanding the space for the development of industry and services by connecting with other localities such as Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Hanoi and Quang Ninh. The projects include a road linking National Roads 37 and 17 and Vo Nhai in Thai Nguyen, a road and Ha Bac 2 bridge linking the second branch of the fourth belt road with Yen Phong industrial park and National Road 18 in Bac Ninh, a road and a bridge connecting Hiep Hoa disctric and Pho Yen township of Thai Nguyen province, and A Lu bridge.
At the same time, the province will quickly complete procedures for some urgent projects, such as the intersection at Voi town connecting with Bac Giang-Lang Son Highway, the expansion of the road linking provincial road 293 with National Road 17, the Belt Road No.5 of the capital city region, Dong Viet bridge, and the provincial cultural and exhibition centre.
Duong added that Bac Giang plans to mobilize over 115 trillion VND (4.96 billion USD at current exchange rate) for public investment, with 85 trillion VND to come from the province’s budget, and 30 trillion VND from the central budget.
He said the province will try to optimize resources for development, with public investment serving as bait to attract capital from non-budget sources.
According to the province’s leader, Bac Giang will give priority to infrastructure projects that have wide-spread effects, areas that work as growth drivers, and roads connecting poor areas with urban areas, industrial parks and industrial clusters.
At the same time, Bac Giang will continue to pour investment in agriculture, health care and education, towards the goal of putting in place synchronous socio-economic infrastructure by 2030, basically meeting local development needs, ensuring defence-security and improving local living standards.
In the recent past, the province has concentrated efforts on mobilizing resources for infrastructure development. A total 2.718 trillion VND worth of public investment had been disbursed this year to the end of May, or 27.5 percent of the plan.
Among 16 projects slated to start this year in the province, work had started on three as of the end of May, namely the Nhu Nguyet bridge, the upgrade of the headquarters of the provincial industrial park management board, and capacity enhancement for the provincial scientific-technological application centre.
Attention has also been paid to infrastructure in industrial parks and clusters, along with other supporting infrastructure to facilitate the development of industrial production.
At the advice of the provincial People’s Committee, the provincial Party Committee on June 9, 2021 issued Resolution 110 on developing social housing for workers in the province to 2025 with orientations to 2030.
The provincial People’s Committee has instructed investors of housing areas, urban areas and residential areas in the province to speed up the pace of their projects. At the same time, the committee has quickly addressed difficulties in ground clearance and compensation for the investors, to help them meet schedule.
The provincial People’s Committee has also instructed relevant agencies to research and build a project on infrastructure development supporting the transport of workers in 2021-2025, and regulations on the organization and operation of parking facilities in the province, to ensure quality transport service for local workers./.
