Thisis a writing contest in Frenchheld by Le Courrier du Vietnam, aweekly French-language newspaper under the Vietnam News Agency, under the sponsor of theInternational Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), the embassies of France,Switzerland and Morocco, the Francophone Universities Association (AUF), theWallonie-Bruxelles Delegation in Hanoi, and the Hanoi Eye HospitalNo2.
The first prize was presented to Vu Le Minh Anh and Le Huynh Kieu Nga from HCM City for their reportage titled “Réseaux sociaux ennemis desfemmes?” (Social networks – enemy of women), which explores the negative impacts on Vietnamese womenthrough social networks, particularly Facebook.
The second prize went to Vu Ha Trang and Doan Tra My for their work “Vieux dortoirs à Hanoi – un patrimoine méconnu” (Old condosin Hanoi – forgotten legacy).
The organisers also presented a third prize, three encouragement prizes, aPeople’s Choice award, an Impressive Contestant, and a Dynamic Contestant.
Entitled The Power of Words,the contest aims to encourage young people to use the beauty and richness ofthe French language to write about the country.
The contest attracted attention from youngwriters, particularly university students learning French throughout thecountry.
The best 20 entries were published on Le Courrier duVietnam online at https://www.lecourrier.vn.
Addressing theceremony, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam News Agency Le Quoc Minh affirmedthat the VNA supports the development of the French language in Vietnam, notingthe contest contributed to enhancing the unity of Francophone partners inVietnam.
Editor-in-chief of Le Courrier du Vietnam, Nguyen Thu Ha, who is a co-organiser of the event, said this year, the number ofcandidates increased significantly, and the quality of the works was alsobetter than previous years.
The fourth contest’s results met all itstargets of promoting the movement of teaching and learning French in Vietnam, and especially, it creates a playground for young peoplestudying French, said Ha./.
