Automobile market can set new sales record

Hanoi (VNA) –
The automobile marketis expected to set a new record in sales this year with VAMA members and TCMotors selling an average nearly 32,000 cars each month in January-September.

The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturer Association(VAMA) reported on October 10 that its members sold 230,334 cars in the firstnine months of 2019, a year-on-year rise of 18 percent.

Sales of passenger cars rose by 30 percent to168, 994 units, while that of commercial and special-purpose ones went down by3 percent and 27 percent respectively, to 57,523 and 4,117 units, according to theVAMA.

Besides VAMA members, such brands as TC Motor,Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover, Subaru, Volkswagen and Volvo are also present inVietnam.

TC Motor, for example, sold a total of 55,473vehicles of all kinds in January-September.

From now to the year’s end, the automobilemarket is expected to see over 384,000 vehicles sold, far exceeding the figureof 2018 (nearly 290,000) and the record of 304,000 units in 2016./.
