Australian naval ships make port call in HCM City

– RoyalAustralian Navy frigates HMAS Anzac and Toowoomba and auxiliary oiler HMASSuccess, arrived at Sai Gon Port in Ho Chi Minh City on April 19,beginning its four-day goodwill visit to Vietnam.

The visit is part of the activities to mark 45th anniversary ofdiplomatic relations, the 20th anniversary of defence ties betweenthe two countries and the official elevation of bilateral ties to a strategicpartnership.

According to the agenda, commanders and crews on the Australian ships will paycourtesy visits to leaders of HCM City People’s Committee, the heads of thecommands of Military Region 7 and the naval force in the south. The crews will engagein several friendship activities like sport exchange and some other socialactivities held by the city’s Department of External Affairs. 

The HMAS Anzac and Toowoomba will join ships from the Vietnam People’sNavy in some joint exercises in practicing the Code for Unplanned Encounters atSea.-VNA
