Addressing the event, Consul General Le Viet Duyenpraised efforts made by overseas Vietnamese students in the formation ofthe association, a common house where they support each other whilestudying and living in the host country.
He encouraged thestudents to contribute to heightening Vietnam’s role and position inAustralia and deepening the comprehensive partnership between Vietnamand Australia as well as Western Australia in particular.
The VISAWA’s provisional executive board announced the association’spragmatic plans of action in the coming time, including its firstcongress, activities to celebrate the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November20) and promote Vietnamese culture in Western Australia.
About 2,000 overseas Vietnamese students are studying in WesternAustralia, ranking eight among those from countries learning here.-VNA
