With the theme “Values fromspace: 20 years of Asia-Pacific Experiences”, the four-day APRSAF-20 isjointly organised by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, theJapan Aerospace Exploration Agency and the Japanese Ministry ofEducation, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
It focuses on the application of space technology in disasterprevention, environmental protection, satellite information andeducation to increase people’s awareness of space science andtechnology.
At their plenary sitting on December5-6, representatives from space agencies will present reports on theresults and orientations of each country’s space technology applicationand exchange views on measures to intensify partnerships in the region.
This year’s forum offers a chance for Vietnam toexpand its cooperation in space technology study and application withother countries and international organisations, as well as improve itsposition in this field.
Founded in 1993, theAsia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum has gathered annually in orderto strengthen ties between Asian-Pacific countries in the space field.
As a member of the forum, Vietnam has held manyactivities, participated in relevant forums, and signed agreements withspace agencies of such countries as Japan and the Republic of Korea, inorder to expand international and regional connection in this field.-VNA
