Hanoi (VNA) – Senior officials from the 10 ASEAN member states gatheredfor a three-day meeting in Manila, the Philippines, from October 11 to discusspreparations for the ASEAN Summit and related meetings slated for next month.
Thejoint consultative meeting, chaired by Undersecretary of the PhilippineDepartment for Foreign Affairs (DFA) Enrique Manalo, is expected to focus ondocuments that will be released during the 31st ASEAN Summit andrelated meetings.
Thelogistic preparations for the summit are also on the agenda of the meeting, theDFA said.
Afterthe joint consultation meeting, the ASEAN senior officials will meet with theircounterparts from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
Theywill also have meetings with senior officials of the East Asia Summit,including Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea,Russia and the US.
Theother meetings will also focus on the outcome of documents for the 20th ASEANPlus Three Summit and 12th East Asia Summit in November.
