ASEAN, China conclude maritime drill

Naval forces from member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China concluded a joint maritime drill in Zhanjiang city, Guangdong province, southern China, on October 27.
Hanoi (VNA) - Naval forcesfrom member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) andChina concluded a joint maritime drill in Zhanjiang city, Guangdong province,southern China, on October 27.

Eight naval vessels and more than 1,200officers and soldiers from the ASEAN countries and China joined the drill.

The drill was divided into three parts,including activities at port and on shore, maritime military exercises and aconclusion.

A similar drill between ASEAN and the USis scheduled for 2019.

The Associationof Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) groups ten countries - Brunei, Cambodia,Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand andVietnam.-VNA

Indonesia begins major oil, gas exploration in Sulawesi
