Around 5,000 walk for the poor

Some five thousand people joined a charity walk in Ho Chi Minh City to raise funds for the poor on Nov. 14.

The fourth “Unity for the poor” walk was attended by Chairwoman of themunicipal People’s Council Pham Phuong Thao and Chairman of the city’sFatherland Front Committee Duong Quan Ha.

Under theprogramme, which was held on the occasion of the 80 th foundinganniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 25 scholarships each worth1.2 -1.5 million VND were awarded to needy children and 14 were givennew houses in Can Gio district.

Also on this occasion, many donors, philanthropists and enterprises contributed to the city’s fund “For the poor”.

Participants started from the 30/4 Park and walked through main streets of the city./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
