Hanoi (VNA) – Vice Speaker of theCongress of the Federated States of Micronesia Esmond B. Moses said hehopes Vietnam and Micronesia will increase parliamentary delegation exchangesat all levels while meeting with Vice Chairman of the National Assembly ofVietnam Uong Chu Luu in Hanoi on January 19.
He suggested the two sides strengthencoordination at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-ParliamentaryUnion (IPU) and the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF).
Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu welcomed the guest toattend the ongoing APPF-26 in Hanoi, saying his participation will makesignificant contributions to the success of the event.
He hoped Vietnam andMicronesia will soon sign cooperation agreements or Memoranda of Understandingin the fields of their strengths.
The bilateral cooperation in economics, trade,investment, culture and tourism is expected to develop as their sound politicalties, he said.
He took this occasion to thank Micronesia forproviding Vietnam with 25,000 USD to address consequences caused by typhoonHaiyan in 2013.-VNA
