Addressing the plenary session ofthe APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Dialogue with APEC Economic Leadersin the central city of Da Nang on November 10, President Quang said the issuesthat attract the attention of the business community, particularly regionaleconomic integration, connectivity, boosting trade and investment flows, micro-,small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), inclusive growth, food security, APEC’spost-2020 vision, among others, are also issues of great concern for APECleaders to work out appropriate solutions and practical actions.
“All APEC member economies arecommitted to accelerating the implementation to achieve the Bogor Goals, withgreater focus on services, investment and measures to reduce non-tariffbarriers. APEC will also expedite the implementation of adopted plans and focusmore on emerging issues,” he said.
The leader said the businesscommunity’s recommendations on accelerating economic, financial and socialinclusion, achieving food and energy security, promoting quality workforces inthe digital age reflect the urgent issues to be addressed to ensure innovative,sustainable and inclusive growth.
He highly valued thecontributions made by the business community towards the idea of an APECpost-2020 vision and called on the business community to continue making activecontributions and working with member economies to accomplish the task to builda new vision for the APEC Forum in the decades to come.
The State leader also took theoccasion to urge APEC and ABAC to uphold close and effective cooperationmechanism and believed that the business community will continue to be thegovernments’ companion at this critical juncture and beyond, thus providing newimpetus to realise APEC’s ultimate goal for the benefit of people and businesses.
After the plenary session, thePresident attended three discussion sessions in groups with APEC economicleaders and ABAC representatives to seek measures to enhance collaboration betweengovernments and business community and MSMEs’ participation in the globalmarket.-VNA
