 Da Nang (VNA) – Vietnam treasures and wishes to expand the friendship and multi-facetedcooperation with Peru, President Tran Dai Quang told Peruvian President PedroPablo Kuczynski in central Da Nang city on November 9.

The Vietnamese State leader and the Peruvian President, who is in Da Nang toattend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, commented on cooperation between thetwo countries over the past time, with two-way trade exceeding 350 million USDin 2016, tripling that in 2010.

The two countries have also coordinated with each other at multi-lateralmechanisms, especially the United Nations, the Asia-Pacific EconomicCooperation (APEC) and negotiations of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)agreement.

Vietnam and Peru boast a lot of potential for cooperation, President Quang said,urging the two countries to deepen their bilateral ties and intensify theexchange of all-level delegations in order to increase mutual understanding anddevelopment.
 
For his part, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski affirmed that Peru attaches importance todevelopment cooperation with Vietnam and will create optimal conditions forVietnamese investors in the country.

On this occasion, he shared losses caused by recent typhoon Damrey in Vietnam.

The two leaders also talked about regional and global issues of shared concernand consented to continue coordination at the UN, APEC, the Forum forEast Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) andother multilateral cooperation frameworks. –VNA
