Another typhoon heads towards East Sea

With wind speeds of 118-149km per hour, Typhoon Tembin is heading toward the East Sea , according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecast.

However, according tothe centre's meteorologist Nguyen Huu Hai, it is too early to saywhether the typhoon, forecast to be about 100km off China 's TaiwanIsland by 7am on Aug. 25, will hit Vietnam .

Meanwhile, prolonged heavy rains and floods in the northen province ofPhu Tho as a result of Storm Kai Tak killed two people on Aug. 23,bringing the total death toll caused by the storm to 29, reported theCentral Committee for Flood and Storm Control.

TheVietnam Red Cross Society provided 200 boxes of emergency supplies onWednesday to families who have suffered heavy losses from the storm.-VNA
