HCM City (VNA) - Another medical centre will bebuilt on Phan Vinh island in the island district of Truong Sa, the centralprovince of Khanh Hoa, said Director of the Military Hospital 175 Maj. GenNguyen Hong Son on May 25.

The current medical centre, the only in Truong Sa town now,was born on May 25, 2017 at a total cost of 41 billion VND (1.82 million USD) donatedby people nationwide.

With 12 medical staff and modern equipment, the centre iscapable of conducting basic and complex surgeries.

Over the past year, the centre has offered 3,000 healthcheck-ups and 200 inpatient treatments, up nearly 10-fold. It also conducted396 surgeries regarding birth delivery, cerebrovascular accident andmulti-injuries, among others.

Son said it marks a positive signal in health care forofficers and soldiers on Truong Sa archipelago and fishermen on Truong Safishing ground.

He expressed his hope to build medical centres on all islandson Truong Sa archipelago to serve officers, soldiers and foreign vessels inneed of medical support, becoming international humanitarian supportdestinations.-VNA
