Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - Alibaba Grouphas opened its office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, marking a new chapter in thecompany’s strategic cooperation with the nation, reporting the local dailynewspaper The Star.
At the opening ceremony of the office on June 18, JackMa, executive chairman and founder of Alibaba Group, expressed his confidencein Malaysia’s small businesses and youths.
He said the new office will be a trainingcentre for Malaysians. It will serve as a one-stop solution centre and helpMalaysian businesses identify global cross-border trade opportunities andprovide cloud computing services.
In November last year, Alibaba launched itsfirst overseas electronic world trade platform (eWTP) in Malaysia as part ofits cooperation project with the local government.
The eWTP aims to facilitate exports for Malaysian SMEs and create the infrastructureto support global trade, with services including e-commerce, logistics, cloudcomputing, mobile payments and training of talent.-VNA
