Airlines resume flights to airports in central region

Vietnam Airlines has resumed the operation of all flights from/to airports in localities affected by Typhoon Doksuri, which landed in the central region on September 15 and devastated many localities from Nghe An to Thua Thien-Hue.

Hanoi(VNA) – Vietnam Airlines has resumed the operation of all flights from/toairports in localities affected by Typhoon Doksuri, which landed in the centralregion on September 15 and devastated many localities from Nghe An to ThuaThien-Hue.

A representative ofthe airline said that in September 15-16, Vietnam Airlines has increased thenumber of flights to eight, using larger aircraft to meet passengers’ demand.

Meanwhile, Vietjet Airannounced that all flights to and from airports in central region has resumednormal operation on September 16.

The airline hasincreased flights between Nghe An and Ho Chi Minh City as well as Thanh Hoa andHo Chi Minh City on September 16-17.

At the same time,passengers travelling from and to Dong Hoi airport in Quang Binh are alsosupported to fly in Vietjet Air flights from September 16-18.

The airline remindedpassengers to track information of their flights on its website www.vietjetair.com.

Earlier, severalairlines announced the cancellation of flights to and from airports in thecentral coastal region on September 14 and 15 out of concern for safety due to TyphoonDoksuri, the strongest storm to hit Vietnam in many years.

Jetstar Pacific saidit cancelled four flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Chu Lai (Quang Namprovince) and HCM City-Dong Hoi (Quang Binh province) on late September 14 and12 other flights on September 15 between HCM City and Thanh Hoa/Hue/Vinh (NgheAn province)/ Dong Hoi, and between Hue and Da Lat (Lam Dong province)/Dong Hoi/Chiang Mai (Thailand).
